CHRISTMAS IS --
GIVING and RECEIVING
![]() |

|
This is evident in all our lives. It begins with the youngest child. What do you want Santa to bring you? We all love the colorful packages under the brightly decorated trees. The child cries out...is that one mine? As we grow older we want to give as well as to receive. We search for just the right item to please our friends. After Christmas we often hear, "Did you get what you wanted?" Gift giving should be a vital part of our lives. It shows compassion and love. But Gift Giving began 2000 years ago on that first Christmas, when God gave the most treasured part of Himself, His own dear Son. We often hear the common phrase, "What do you want for Christ-mas?" Aren't we glad that God knows and provides what we need, rather than what we want.
Because of Jesus birth and consequential death, He purchased
an Eternal Home in heaven for us; plus a renewed relationship with the Father. Like
every other gift, to make it ours, we must take it.
John 1:12
Let us not be careless, hesitant or fearful about receiving that first and most
eternally valuable Gift, eternal life, given to us from God's own loving heart.
John 3:16
