Spring Is A Time For Growing |
||
|
Spring is one of natures most extravagant times of the year. We watch dead brown lawns and leafless trees come back to life. Blossoms pop out everywhere, and trees bloom in all their glory. Have you ever wondered why we call these months "Spring?" Perhaps because we see the return of life and growth coming in such a hurry. We love to watch things grow. Changes come almost over night. If we look, we can see God's hand providing the warmth,(sun) and moisture (rain) to make all this possible. God also challenges growth in the Spiritual realm as well as the natural. Solomon says: "Give instructions to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser (growth), teach a just man, and he will increase in learning (growth). The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding (growth). Proverbs 9:9-10 PETER urges us to "Grow in Grace, and in the know- ledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." II Peter 3:18 John 15:4 challenges us to "Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine, no more can ye except ye abide in me." (growth). Jesus said, "I am the vine, ye are the branches, He that abideth in me and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit." As water restores life to a wilting plant, so God's Word brings joy to a discouraged heart. Psalm 1 tells us that those who delight in God's Word, are LIKE a tree planted by a river, whose leaves do not wither, it produces fruit and it prospers. Do you desire SPRINGTIME in your heart?
