Without FAITH it is impossible
to please God, for he that cometh to God must believe that he is…and
a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews
11:6
We’ve heard the words
“I wish I had a faith like yours”. Sometimes we think of
faith as some substance we can’t put our finger on. A wish I had,
thing. Maybe we can sift it down to a better understanding.
Belief is the foundation
of faith. When we
believe in a person or thing, we have faith in them. When I put
a letter in my mail box, I believe the postman will pick it up and start
it on it’s way. When you say that you will pick up an item at
the grocery and bring it to me, I believe that you will do that.
We have faith in people and systems when we believe they can,
and will do what they say.
Why then, do some have difficulty
with faith in God. Tim LaHaye, informs us that there are 109 prophecies
in the O. T. regarding Jesus first coming. Every one has been fulfilled
exactly as told. There are 329 in Scripture regarding His Second Coming.
Three times as many as the first. About half of these have already come
to pass. These facts should be Faith Builders for any doubter.
Problem? You still have
thoughts that need assurance?
Questions sometimes arise regarding the subject of health, suffering,
finances, death etc. What will happen IF this
or that doesn’t work out? Sometimes confusion seeps in. Where
does faith rule at these times?
In God’s love and
wisdom, He knows what is best for us and
will bring to pass that which is for our good. Can we believe God
or not? Can we have faith that He will fulfill what he has promised?
Did He not say, I will never
leave you nor forsake you? and Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose
mind is stayed on thee, because he trusteth (believeth) in thee. Isa.
26:3
My soul, wait thou only
upon God; for my expectation is from him,
he only is my rock and my salvation: my defense, I shall not be moved.
Our FAITH will grow when we BELIEVE
God’s promises, and rest in the fact that he is willing and able
to keep his Word.
