?? WHO ??

When Sally refused to join in the Family Prayer time on Tuesday evening, her dad questioned why. Her answer, "God doesn't give me what I ask for, so why pray?"

Many of us are like Sally. We want what we want, when we want it and in so doing, discount God's wisdom in the matter of giving us what is best for us. Who are we praying to, a phantom Santa or Creator God? Let's work at getting a better understanding in our own mind, as to Who this God is that we are approaching in prayer. Here are a few questions that may help us in our thinking.

WHO - set the speed for the turn of this planet to make day and night, without change for 1000's of years?

WHO - tilted the earth at the correct angle to make the seasons?

WHO - draws water from the oceans and then sprinkles it over dry land so vegetation can grow?

WHO - set the earth at the exact distance from the sun so that we neither bake nor freeze?

WHO - makes a baby's body and mind to grow at the same rate to fit into society?

WHO - creates the DNA, distinct and different for every individual?

If these questions seem a little much for you and you need a little more to help in your thinking, I challenge you to listen to God's conversation with Job in chapters 38 and 39 and Ps.8:1-4. When we get a better grasp of WHO God is, our prayer life will be strengthened also. We'll learn to trust in the promise God gave to Jeremiah long years ago when He said, "Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not." Jer. 33:3
